SerEnBio translates as Serve Environment with skills and knowledge of Biology. The term “environment” in this case has three main aspects: 1. physical environment of the Bio lab – keeping it tidy, organized and safe, and taking care of its plants, aquarium and sea tanks (service). 2. social environment – some of the team members will peer-tutor other students (service). 3. natural environment – long term cumulative monitoring project of some abiotic and biotic fluctuations of Flekke fjord waters and possibly other nearby ecosystems, to be presented on the Internet or in a publication (environment). Each member of the team is given a regular specific duty and a project to work on, related to monitoring, developing new investigations or other, including micro-photography and possibly web design (Creative). Every student will attend team meetings on Mondays and will also have their own time slot some other time during the week. Expected commitment is between 2 to 4 hours a week, depending on needs.
